A NY moment

When "she" got into the train, the five people who were on that wagon looked at each other. Although we were complete strangers, the magic of such a character made us come together. She was in her 70s, tall, hunchbacked and was wearing a giant black tutu with rhinestones, a crocheted black sweater, long black silk gloves, aquamarine sneakers, a giant blond wig, full drag queen make up and 60s paste sunglasses.
We drank her image greedily, exchanging glances that said: "Can you believe it?".
The woman exited the train at the next station.
Woman: Did you guys see that women?
Lily: Was she really a she, or a he?
Woman 2: Who knows?
Man 1: Who cares!
Man 2: This is why I love NY. Yes, man, this is why I love this city. [Singing] I aaaaaaammmmm crrrraaaazzzzyyyyyy, craaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzyyyyyyyyyyy about New Yooorrrrrrkkkkkk. Craaazzzzzzyyyyy...
Woman 2: You got it, man, crazzzzzzyyyyy in loooooveeee, craaaaazzyyyyyy...
[The duet lasted for like 5 minutes]
When people ask me if I'm 100% sure I don't want to move to Salt Lake City and preserve my job in this crazy economy, I think of moments like this one and I answer without quavering: Absolutely.
